In Arkansas, licensed acupuncturists are required to renew their licenses biennially, with the licensing period running from January 1st to December 31st of the following year. To be eligible for renewal, practitioners must fulfill specific continuing education (CE) requirements and adhere to the state's regulations.

License Renewal Requirements:

Continuing Education (CE):

  • Hours Required: Practitioners must complete 24 hours of CE every two years. NCCAOM board approved courses qualify.
  • CPR Certification: A CPR course for professionals is required each renewal period, and will count  for 2 CE hours.

Renewal Application:

  • Submission: Licensees are required to submit a renewal application that includes documentation of completed CE hours.
  • Fees: Payment of the biennial license renewal fee is mandatory. Arkansas Legislature

Important Considerations:

  • Late Renewal: If a license is not renewed within one year after its expiration, it cannot be renewed, restored, or reinstated. The individual must apply for a new license, meet current standards, and pass the required examination as if seeking licensure for the first time.
