Massachusetts biannual Acupuncture and Herbal licensur renewal requirements
Your CAE renewal is due every 2 years on your birthday—mark your calendar to stay on track!

30 hours of Continuing Acupuncture Education (CAE) required per 2-year renewal period.

15 hours of the 30 hours of continuing acupuncture education shall be spent in courses directly related to acupuncture.

Must submit a signed, notarized statement attesting to CEU completion on a form provided by the Committee. (Found on Mass.gov application site.)

For Acupuncturists praciticing herbal medicine: A total of 30 CEUs per renewal cycle: 10 hours in Herbology, 15 hours in Acupuncture, and 5 hours in either Acupuncture or Herbology (direct or indirect)

Record Keeping: A licensee is required to maintain records of his/her 30 hours of continuing acupuncture education per renewal period, for at least two renewal cycles.
