New Jersey Continuing Education Requirements

In New Jersey, licensed acupuncturists are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years to renew their licenses. Of these, up to 15 hours may be completed through distance learning courses approved by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Additionally, practitioners authorized to practice herbology must complete at least 10 hours related to herbology as part of the 30-hour requirement.

NJACUS

The New Jersey Administrative Code specifies that no license renewal shall be issued unless the acupuncturist confirms on the renewal application the completion of the required continuing education hours and holds current certification in CPR, first aid, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) from approved courses.

For acupuncturists returning from inactive status, the Board requires the completion of the continuing education units for each biennial registration period during which the license was inactive.
